1. Sell your first bags of hay
Hold click to collect, walk to the cow, sell. Your bag is tiny at first — that's normal, and it's exactly what the first upgrades fix.
The Farmhouse is where Search For The Needle teaches you its loop — and where your first needle is hiding.
Search For The Needle chapter 1 (Farmhouse) is where the core loop clicks: hold click on hay, sell at the cow, and buy Hold upgrades before anything else. Then search the pile in straight lines until the needle turns up. Clearing Chapter 1 unlocks Chapter 2 (the basement).

Each Hold level carries more hay per trip, which means fewer walks to the cow and more time actually searching. A popular beginner video recommends Hold first, then Grasp and Speed — creator advice, but it holds up.
Two-plus levels of each makes the pickup pace feel dramatically better. Get at least that far before touching the round-only tools.
Work the pile in straight lines so no ground gets skipped. When it turns up, note your completion time and Gems — the game's own scoreboard is you from yesterday.
Chapter 2 (the basement) becomes your next place to play.
Permanent stat upgrades persist; per-round tools reset unless you own them via gamepasses.
When Hold levels let you carry a full bag without constant trips, you can finish a sweep without shopping mid-run, and you've seen how your tools work — you're ready.
