Search For The Needle Chapter 5: the Desert, the sundial and The Farmer

Chapter 5 opened on 2026-10-31 and swaps the graveyard for a desert farm: three sand tablets out of the haystack, a stone sundial that gives up a potion, and a farmer who drinks it and grows a health bar. This page keeps the creator's own statements apart from what two dated recordings show, and lists the parts nobody has published.

Quick answer

Three tablets, one sundial, one potion, one angry farmer

Chapter 5 is the Desert map. The objective panel gives the whole run in four lines: dig up the Tablets (0/3), solve the Sundial (0/1), bring the Potion to the Farmer (0/1), then defeat the Farmer. The tablets come out of the haystack — the pickup prompt names them “Sand tablet” — and they feed the stone sundial beside the red barn, which produces a red potion. Carry that potion to the farmer waiting by the white van at the gate and he drinks it, grows into a 5,000 HP boss and comes at you with a pitchfork. Beat him for the “Finish Chapter 5” badge.

The hay loop is still underneath all of it. Haystack, sell trough, cash counter, gem chest and the 2x boosts all work the same way they did in Chapter 4, so the first ten minutes are the same collect-and-sell rhythm with a cactus in the background. What the chapter adds is the sundial puzzle and a boss fight you cannot skip — the fourth objective is hidden as ??? (0/1) until the potion changes hands.

What the creator's own surfaces say

Four rows, all read on 2026-11-07 from the Roblox badges API, the virtual-events API, the economy asset record and the Garage Games announcement. These are the only official statements about the chapter.

Official

Chapter 5 shipped and the game is named after it

The economy asset record for place 77108422251420 returned the name “[CHAPTER 5] Search For The Needle” on 2026-11-07, with the build updated at 2026-11-06 23:45 UTC. The same record read “[IMPOSSIBLE 😈] Search For The Needle” a week earlier, so the chapter is the creator's own label rather than a third-party guess.

Official

The event window runs to 2026-11-07 18:30 UTC

Roblox's virtual-events record for CHAPTER 5 (event 8356886792980529816) reads 2026-10-31 18:30 UTC to 2026-11-07 18:30 UTC, with the creator's note “The story continues... ⚔”. Its updatedUtc is 2026-10-31 19:17 UTC, so the window has not moved since it opened. A NOVEMBER UPDATE tile is already scheduled for 2026-11-07 18:30 UTC to 2026-11-14 18:30 UTC with the note “New Content 👀”, and Roblox renders both in your own timezone, so open the event page to read them on your clock.

Official

The build's contents, in the creator's own list

The Garage Games announcement for the update reads “NEW UPDATE - CHAPTER 5 (DESERT) 🔥 … USE CODE: DESERT - Chapter 5 - Titles - Needle Pet - New Leaderboards: Solo / Duo - Bug Fixes”. That announcement is the only creator-published description of the build: it names the map, the code and the four side items, and it does not describe any objective inside the chapter.

Official

“Finish Chapter 5” is the eighth badge

Badge 2909659821152698, “Finish Chapter 5”, was created on 2026-10-31 16:08 UTC with the description “Finish Chapter 5 to get this Badge”. The 2026-11-07 read returns 54,662 awards and 5,030 in the previous day, so the chapter is being finished right now rather than sitting behind a locked door. The list had seven badges on 2026-10-31 and carries eight today; nextPageCursor is null, so this is a complete read.

Observed in two recorded runs

The run, in order

Read from two full Chapter 5 recordings, both uploaded 2026-11-01. Garage Games has not published this order, so treat it as what the game printed on those two runs rather than as a rule — and if your objective panel disagrees, the panel wins.

Step 1

Read the four objectives on the left

Chapter 5 prints the same panel in both recordings: “Dig up the Tablets (0/3)”, “Solve the Sundial (0/1)”, “Bring the Potion to the Farmer (0/1)” and a fourth line printed only as “??? (0/1)”. The fourth line is the fight: once the potion is handed over it reads “Defeat the Farmer (0/1)”, so the game never names the boss before you meet him.

Step 2

Take the sand tablets out of the haystack

The tablets surface from the haystack the same way the needle does, and the pickup prompt prints the item's own name: “Sand tablet — [E] Take”. The counter steps 0/3, 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 on the objective line. No separate dig tool is involved in either recording: the haystack tool — a vacuum that prints a “Suck” prompt over the pile — clears straw as usual and the plate appears in it.

Step 3

Solve the sundial to get the potion out

The sundial is a circular stone dial set into the ground next to the red barn. Its face is made of stone tiles carrying symbols — an ankh, a crescent moon, a ring, a spiral, a sun, chevrons and a wave — and a wooden crank handle sits at its edge. A standing stone tablet with a yellow sun symbol is already mounted on a pedestal beside it. What the two recordings show is the hardware; neither shows which tiles the run set, so this page does not publish an arrangement. The creator's own chapter description summarises the step as finding the plates, inserting them into the sundial and turning it the right way.

Step 4

Carry the potion to the farmer at the gate

Solving the sundial puts a bottle of red potion into the hotbar — slot 6 in both recordings — and the objective flips to 1/1 only when you arrive. The farmer stands next to a white van at the gate in his normal size, and the delivery is a normal interaction rather than a menu: walking up to him prints “That's my potion. Hand…”, and the drop-off also prints “Where d'you think you're goin'? Bring me the…”. Equipping the bottle is part of the step; both runs hold it in hand while walking.

Step 5

The hand-off is the boss trigger

The moment the potion is delivered, the farmer grows into the boss: a torn straw hat, glowing green eyes, a pitchfork and black tendrils, with the red text “I ain't helping you.” across the screen and a “RUN!” flash. The subtitle line under it reads “THE FARMER: Heh-heh-heh. Harvest time.” The fourth objective becomes “Defeat the Farmer (0/1)”.

Step 6

Fight The Farmer — 5,000 HP with a stagger window

The boss bar at the top of the screen carries the name “The Farmer” and starts at 5,000 / 5,000. Under the health bar sits a second, shorter meter, and when it fills the bar prints a damage window: one recording catches “DAZED! X1.5 DAMAGE”, the other catches “DISARMED! X1.5 DAMAGE”. Mid-fight readings were 2,502 / 5,000 and 929 / 5,000, so it does come down. Both runs are also fighting the environment at the same time — flame plumes and black crow-like shapes crossing the arena, while the tool's heat bar on the left climbs as you attack.

Step 7

What happens after the kill is not in these recordings

Past the kill, one recording shows the boss's straw hat lying in the dirt with a green glow inside it, and then the video ends. Neither recording reaches a completion screen, so this page publishes no gem payout, no ticket reward and no Chapter 6 teaser for Chapter 5. The only reward that is confirmed is the official “Finish Chapter 5” badge.

The boss

The Farmer, by the numbers we could read

Every value below is a frame reading from one of the two recordings, not a published constant. The health maximum is the only one both runs agree on.

Health

5,000

Health bar reads “The Farmer” and 5,000 / 5,000 at the start of the fight.

Damage window

×1.5

“DAZED! X1.5 DAMAGE” in one run, “DISARMED! X1.5 DAMAGE” in the other — two labels, one multiplier, and a meter under the bar controls it.

Mid-fight hp

2,502 and 929

Two frame readings from two runs. Neither is a phase threshold.

Attacks seen

flame, crows, pitchfork

Flame plumes and crow-like shapes cross the arena; the boss holds a pitchfork. No attack is named on screen.

Hitting the stagger meter is the whole fight. Both runs spend most of it waiting for the bar under the health bar to fill, then commit during the ×1.5 window — with 5,000 HP and a normal-loadout damage output, the multiplier is what makes the fight short enough to survive the arena hazards.

Still unpublished

What this page will not guess

  • Which sundial tiles the winning arrangement uses. Both recordings show the dial and the crank; neither shows the setting that opened it.
  • Where the three sand tablets sit in the haystack. The prompt names the item, not the spot, and both runs pick them up from different parts of the pile.
  • What the potion does besides trigger the fight. No screen in either recording explains the bottle's effect.
  • The Chapter 5 completion payout. Neither recording reaches the completion screen, so gems, titles and any Chapter 6 tease stay unpublished here.
  • Whether the Solo and Duo leaderboards the announcement names are per-chapter or account-wide. The announcement gives the labels only.
  • Whether the “Titles” and “Needle Pet” in the same announcement are earned here or shipped in the shop. No panel for either appears in the two recordings.
Side items

What else the build added

The announcement names Titles, a Needle Pet, new leaderboards (Solo / Duo) and bug fixes beside the chapter itself. It does not say how any of them are earned, and neither recording opens a titles or pet panel, so this page records the labels and stops there.

The code DESERT shipped with the same announcement — the only creator-published string this cycle. Its reward is unpublished: no outlet has printed a figure yet, so the codes page lists it as creator-published with the reward unconfirmed.

The map keeps the economy loop from earlier chapters: hay in the pile, a trough that pays out (“Sold 520 hay for $20.00!”), a 2x CASH timer, a 99 R$ 2x Gems chest, a Drone sold for 40 gems beside the barn, and “Mastery Upgrade unlocked!” toasts on the way through.

FAQ

Chapter 5 questions

The questions the recordings and the announcement actually answer — and the ones they do not, kept separate rather than filled in.

How long does Chapter 5 take?

Neither recording publishes a clear time, and the two runs reach the boss at different points of their own clocks, so this page does not quote a duration. What both do show is the split: most of the run is spent clearing hay and hunting the three tablets, and the boss is the short part.

Is the sundial the same in every run?

The hardware is: the same circular dial, the same symbol tiles, the same wooden crank, and the same standing sun tablet on its pedestal. Whether the tile layout is fixed or re-rolled per session is not visible in the two recordings — both show the dial before it is solved and neither shows a compare. If your dial looks different from somebody else's screenshot, that is the open question, not a mistake on your side.

Why is the fourth objective just “???”?

The game hides the fight until you trigger it. The panel reads “??? (0/1)” for the whole tablet and sundial phase, then changes to “Defeat the Farmer (0/1)” the moment the potion is handed over. It is not a hidden collectible — it is the boss.

Do I need the potion equipped?

Both runs carry it in hand from the sundial to the gate — the bottle sits in hotbar slot 6 and the objective still reads 0/1 until the hand-off. Whether a player who walks up without selecting it can hand it over is not shown.

Is Chapter 5 timed?

The run clock in the bottom right counts up, the way it does in the earlier chapters, and neither recording ends on a timer running out. The only hard deadline is outside the game: the CHAPTER 5 event window closes 2026-11-07 18:30 UTC, and the NOVEMBER UPDATE tile is already scheduled for that same minute.

What does the badge text say?

“Finish Chapter 5”, with the description “Finish Chapter 5 to get this Badge”. That is the entire official wording — no map name, no boss name, no reward. Its id is 2909659821152698 and it was created on 2026-10-31 at 16:08 UTC. The badges page carries the live award count.

Official, then observed

The name, the window, the badge and the announcement are creator-owned surfaces. The steps are two dated recordings and are labelled that way.

No arrangement published

The sundial is a puzzle. Both recordings show the dial and the crank but not the setting that opened it, so this page leaves the arrangement blank instead of printing a guess.

No invented payout

No completion screen appears in either recording, so there is no gem figure, no title unlock and no Chapter 6 teaser on this page.
